CINCINNATI ART CLUB The largest organization of women and men who seek improvement in their artistic skills and those people who just love the arts and want to show their support–a friendly, welcoming group that is inclusive of gender, age, race and all artists who practice any form of visual art varying from representational and abstract painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, ceramics, fiber art and artistic jewelry, etc.

The Cincinnati Art Club was founded in 1890 and remains the second oldest art club of its kind in America (surpassed only by the Salmagundi Club in New York). The Club is located at the foot of Mt. Adams, near the Cincinnati Art Museum.

Members enjoy a wide range of educational programs such as sketch sessions with posed models, critique sessions, monthly lectures and demonstrations, the opportunity to exhibit work in the Club’s Wessel Art Gallery but most important is the collegiality with like-minded people in a friendly, welcoming environment.

BAKER HUNT ARTS & CULTURAL CENTER The Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people in our community through art education and cultural enrichment. Baker Hunt’s mission is to provide professional art instruction in a compelling learning environment for the enrichment of studies in the Arts and Humanities. Over 40 courses and workshops in drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, quilting, language, dance and yoga for children and adult.

THE CARNEGIE – COVINGTON, KY The Carnegie connects people with enriching arts education, exceptional theatre and unique gallery exhibitions. It provides a venue for emerging and established artists to create, perform, and exhibit. A multidisciplinary venue for the arts and arts education, The Carnegie Galleries, the Eva G. Farris Education Center and the Otto M. Budig Theatre are housed together under its landmark dome. The iconic building, funded by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie in 1904, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

CENTRAL INDIANA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION (CICF) Learn about our grantmaking and apply for available grants. CICF was established in 1997 as a partnership between The Indianapolis Foundation, serving Marion County since 1916, and Legacy Fund, serving Hamilton County since 1991. A community foundation, CICF is a tax-exempt public charity created by and for the people in a specific geographic area. It enables people with philanthropic interests to easily and effectively support the issues they care about — immediately or through their estate plans. Donors may give to existing funds or establish a charitable fund by contributing a variety of assets. Community endowment funds allow gifts to grow and be leveraged with other gifts allowing larger grants with greater impact. Donors may also recommend grants through their own fund to charitable 501c(3) organizations they want to support.

CINCINNATI ARTS ASSOCIATION The Weston Art Gallery presents and supports the visual arts of the Tri-state region through exhibitions and special programs.

CINCINNATI ART GALLERIES Cincinnati Art Galleries has over 30 years expertise in the pricing, exhibition and sale of American and European paintings. The gallery has been a leading seller of paintings by Cincinnati artists and handles several contemporary Cincinnati artists as well as works by well-known regionalist painters. Cincinnati Art Galleries is a long time patron of Cincinnati arts and has been host for the Cincinnati Art Club’s annual ViewPoint National Juried Art Competition.

CINCINNATI ART MUSEUM General Admission is always FREE. Located in scenic Eden Park, the Cincinnati Art Museum features an unparalleled art collection of more than 65,000 works plus a wide range of art-related programs, activities and special events. Hours: Tuesday through Sunday 11 am to 5 pm, Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day. Art After Dark, the final Friday of each month, sip merlot with Monet and pinot with Picasso to start your weekend off. Event is free with cash bar and appetizers for purchase. CINCINNATI OPERA Founded in 1920 and the second oldest opera company in the U.S., Cincinnati Opera presents a thrilling roster of world-class artists and conductors, important company debuts, stunning sets and costumes, and the spectacular Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

CLIFTON CULTURAL ARTS CENTER The guiding vision of CCAC is one of a dynamic and collaborative civic hub – a bustling hive of artistic activity and personal expression where people of all ages and backgrounds, from all over Greater Cincinnati, will come and go from morning until evening.

CROQUIS CAFE Traditional figure drawing class in the comfort of your home. Just click and draw. Every week, a life drawing session is posted featuring a nude model in artistic poses timed for 1, 2 and 5 minutes.

EISELE GALLERY OF FINE ART The Eisele Gallery of Fine Art is one of Cincinnati’s oldest and most respected art galleries, specializing in original paintings by noted 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st century American and European artists. The Gallery is located in the Historic Ferris House c1807, just 10 minutes east of downtown Cincinnati. Their experienced staff works closely with private individuals, corporations, museums and institutions to locate, acquire and place single paintings or entire collections. They purchase, consign and sell exceptional works by renowned American Impressionists, Taos and Hudson River School artists, American Tonalists Cincinnati Golden Age painters and nationally recognized Living Artists. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9-5:30; Saturdays 10-3; and By Appointment.

ESSEX STUDIOS – ARTWALK WEEKENDS Studios are open on various weekends, check their website for details. Meet the artists and view their creative works of fine art. No admission fee. Essex Art Studios is located at the corner of Essex Place and McMillan Ave in Cincinnati, OH.

FAIRBORN ART ASSOCIATION The Fairborn Art Association is a nonprofit association located in Fairborn, Ohio designed to promote the development of art in various forms, sponsor art classes, workshops and classes, and provide community service. Members have an opportunity to paint in the studio or outdoors and to display their artwork in the FAA Gallery which is open to the public on Sundays from 1:00 – 4:00 pm or by special appointment. No commissions.

GREATER CINCINNATI WATERCOLOR SOCIETY (GCWS) Tri-state artists interested in all types of watermedia. Meeting monthly since 2002 to learn and to share their love of watercolor. You are invited, 10 am on the first Wednesday of each month at the Cincinnati Art Club. Annual membership $45. Open to anyone who likes watercolor.

GREENACRES ARTS CENTER Greenacres Foundation is a nonprofit, private operating foundation established in 1988 by Louis and Louise Nippert. The Arts Center provides programming that engages children in music, visual arts, drama and dance. Area schools bring students to the Arts Center for an integrated arts experience. With the majority of students arriving from disadvantaged circumstances, the opportunity to learn, appreciate and enjoy the arts is an invaluable experience. In order to preserve Greenacres as a place of natural beauty and learning for future generations, all visits are by reservation only and group sizes are limited.

LOVELAND ART STUDIOS ON MAIN Current home to more than 30 artists including Potters, Glass beadmakers, Stained glass artists, Painters, Jewelers and Fiber artists. Bringing new life to an old building in Loveland, you’re invited to visit the artists, purchase artwork, jewelry, pottery, and fiber art on the second Saturday of each month. Light fare and beverages provided.

MANIFESTGALLERY.ORG Manifest stands for the quality presentation, experience, and documentation of the visual arts, engaging students, professionals, and the public from around the world through accessible world-class exhibits, studio programs, and publications. As a community-minded nonprofit arts organization, founded upon ideals formed both in academic pursuit and a commitment to quality urban living, Manifest relies heavily on private donations to cover operating costs. Gallery hours: Tues-Fri 2-7 pm, Sat 12-5 pm or by special appointment for groups, closed Sun and Mon.

MIDDLETOWN ARTS CENTER (MAC) The Middletown Arts Center promotes art in the community by providing educational opportunities through professional facilities, artists, classes, exhibits and workshops. MOVERS & MAKERS / CINCINNATI Movers & Makers is an online and print publication that spotlights individuals and organizations making important contributions within the arts, culture, philanthropy and Cincinnati community. Movers & Makers promotes local arts exhibits and performances, spreads the word about upcoming fund-raising events, publicly recognizes volunteers, donors and sponsors and publishes photos from events. MT. ADAMS, CINCINNATI OHIO A charming, historic hilltop neighborhood just up the hill from the Cincinnati Art Club that features some of the best restaurants, nightclubs and taverns, arts organizations, services and specialty shops in Cincinnati. There is always a festival of some kind being celebrated, check the website often. A map listing 6 ways to climb the hill is also available on the website.

NEW AMERICAN PAINTINGS Discover the best new art. THE NORTHERN KENTUCKY HERITAGE LEAGUE It all began with Duveneck. Each year, the Northern Kentucky Heritage League hosts an annual Duveneck Art Show that takes place in May. Formed in 1967 to foster the appreciation of fine arts and all forms of art, music, and architecture that make up the heritage and culture of Northern Kentucky, the NKHL invests in other organizations by presenting small grants of $1,000 or less to other nonprofit groups to aid in various projects. Most groups are local but they also support state and national projects.

OHIO ARTS COUNCIL The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally and economically. With funds from the Ohio Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, the OAC provides financial assistance to artists and arts organizations. Grants, Programs, Calendar of Events in the State of Ohio, Arts Organizations and more.

OHIO CITIZENS FOR THE ARTS FOUNDATION Ohio Citizens for the Arts is a statewide arts advocacy organization working to secure public dollars for arts and culture. Ohio Citizens for the Arts works to secure the highest level of funding possible for the Ohio Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts who in turn support artists, arts organizations, communities, and others delivering the arts.

124 WEST PIKE STREET GALLERY An educational destination of what is visually being expressed and studied today in the arts, both established and upcoming artists in the area fill the Gallery with paintings, fine art prints, sculpture, photographs, jewelry, pottery, cards and gifts. Opening exhibitions held on the third Friday of each month, 5 – 9 pm. Daily hours: Tues – Fri 11 am – 5 pm and Sat 11 am – 4 pm.

PENDLETON ART CENTER (PAC) Showcasing local artisans, the Pendleton Art Center is the world’s largest collection of artists under one roof with eight floors of studios featuring original pine floors, eight foot arched windows and over 200 artists. Final Friday studio walks are the final Friday of each month from 6 pm – 10 pm. Studios are open to the public, giving guests the opportunity to view creative art space as well as purchase one-of-a-kind artwork directly from artists.

PROFESSIONAL ARTIST MAGAZINE Ultimate career resource for fine artists, the magazine is dedicated to providing insights, encouragement and business strategies needed to make a living with artwork. Each issue presents practical business advice on subjects such as art marketing, art law, portfolio development, exhibition presentation, communication skills and sales techniques as well as articles to help artists feel encouraged and motivated.

PYRAMID HILL SCULPTURE PARK & MUSEUM Pyramid Hill is an outdoor museum focusing on monumental pieces of sculpture in an environment of meadows, forests, and various gardens. Site also features a 10,000 sq ft Ancient Sculpture Museum displaying Roman, Egyptian, Greek and Etruscan sculpture thousands of years old. Their mission is to eventually establishment a collection which will demonstrate the complete history of sculpture by mankind, making Pyramid Hill the only art park in the world working on the accomplishment. Educational programs in art, horticulture, geology and the environment makes Pyramid Hill a busy learning center. Admission charged.

MARY RAN GALLERY Mary Ran Gallery offers a comprehensive art service with professional advice on all aspects of buying and selling works of art. Known for 19th Century American and European Art Contemporary.

RAYMAR ART Art supplies for the plein air artist including canvas panels, linen panels, archival art boards and wet painting panel carriers. RayMar’s annual online fine art competition is currently not running and a start date has not been determined for the 9th Annual Competition.

ROSEMARY & CO ARTISTS BRUSHES Making high-quality brushes for artists to express their artistic talent, they offer a variety of brushes and brush filaments including red sable, kolinsky sable, sable blends, squirrel, goat or wolf hair, synthetic, nylon and bristle plus an assortment of specialty brushes, accessories, brush care tips and more.

CARL SOLWAY GALLERY Away from the art centers of New York and Los Angeles, the Carl Solway Gallery became an influential place for late 20th century artists and brought leading international artists to Cincinnati. The gallery specializes in modern and contemporary art including painting, sculpture, graphics and new media incorporating video and electronics. Gallery activities include fabrication of large-scale sculpture; publication of print editions and multiples; organization and circulation of museum exhibitions worldwide; and corporate collections consultation and installation. Carl Solway Galley is the only member of the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA) in the Tri-State region of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana and a member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA).

TAFT MUSEUM OF ART A National Historic Landmark built in 1820, the Taft is home to an extensive art collection that includes European and American master paintings, Chinese porcelains and European decorative arts. The Taft also celebrates the artistic contributions and murals of Robert S. Duncanson which adorn the walls and constitute one of the largest existing pre-Civil War domestic mural decorations in the United States. Museum Hours: Open Tuesday through Friday, 11 am – 4 pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 11 am – 5 pm. The Museum is free on Sundays. The Taft offers visitors free on-site parking, a Museum Shop and a Café for lunch and light refreshments. Free content encyclopedia of fine art images and articles. Anonymous volunteers create, revise and edit articles based on the Wikipedia model of openly editable content. Artwork and information are added daily.

WOMAN’S ART CLUB OF CINCINNATI Woman’s Art Club of Cincinnati has been around since 1892 and presents a wide array of exhibitions, workshops and other activities at their home, The Barn, in Mariemont. The oldest existing women’s art club operating without interruption in the United States, their mission is to stimulate artistic creativity and to provide quality educational and cultural experiences to the residents of Greater Cincinnati and the surrounding communities. Woman’s Art Club Cultural Center, The Barn is the permanent home of the Woman’s Art Club of Cincinnati and currently provides space for art instruction, art exhibits, artists’ studios, meetings and events. Woman’s Art Club Foundation is a nonprofit organization formed by the Woman’s Art Club of Cincinnati to convert the former Resthaven Barn in Mariemont to a community arts center. The Foundation maintains and operates the Barn and raises funds for its continuing development.
